Midterm

For my project, I created a comparison map in ArcGIS, and looked at the differences between Vermont libraries in 1914 and what they are today. My model presents a side-by-side view at these differences presently.

  1. This is a really cool project! I really enjoyed reading about your process in making this project. It seems like you really spent some time with the tools you used to make your maps and to do some of the data cleaning. I will probably have some questions on how to use ArcGIS for my groups final now that your familiar with it!

  2. This is a really strong project, and your explanation makes your effort clear. I like how you walk us through your process step by step—it shows how much thought went into organizing and cleaning the data. The zoning idea was especially smart for comparison. You might tighten a few sentences for clarity, but overall this reflects real growth and careful work. Nice job!

  3. This is a good map comparison project. Your use of AllMaps to georeference the 1914 map before moving into ArcGIS shows a sense of commitment to the mapping side of the digital humanities. Seperating Vermont into high, middle, and low zones adds analytical structure rather than simply plotting points. I also appreciate your attention to visual clarity and user experience. Knowing how those three zones were significant would also be an interesting feature to this project.
